Verified Fantastic! Definitely do this tour!!! Fantastic tour! Fantastic tour guide (Tanya)! Epic scenery. Amazing in every way. I did quite a bit of research for this tour as it was quite pricey (for us), but I feel it was time & money well worth spending. The tour started with an early morning pick up from our hotel. Right from the start, Tanya (our tour guide & minibus driver) was really friendly & put us at ease. She was incredibly knowledgeable about both the geography & history of the area, including lots of funny & interesting anecdotes as we drove along. Tanya’s driving was great & we felt very safe throughout. We had numerous stops both on the way too & from Milford Sound, some quick photo stops (ask Tanya to take some shots for you - she’s definitely got a talent for it) and a couple included a little walk/mini trek to see waterfalls/lakes etc. The boat trip up the fiord & back was fantastic! There was plenty of room on the boat (really a catamaran) both inside & out. We started inside but then ended up spending most of our time out on the front deck. Along with the incredible scenery, we also saw some juvenile and adult seals. Both times the skipper took us in closer for a better view - the advantage of a smaller vessel. He also did the same with the waterfalls. In addition to all this, the packed lunch was fab! A sandwich packed full of lamb for my hubby & seafood for myself (prawns, smoked salmon & mussels!) and plenty of other snacks & a fruit juice. There’s also free tea, coffee & water on board the ship & a tea & cake break on the way down. You certainly won’t go hungry!An added bonus was that we were given free tickets to see Ata Whenua -shadowland (a 30min film showcasing the fiordlands from a helicopter) in Te Anau cinema which I also thoroughly enjoyed.I honestly couldn’t fault this trip. Made a few stops for walks, lunch etc. Arrived Milford and onto the boat. Cruised for 1.45 hours magnificent scenery, saw dolphins and seals. Back on land, decided to do the helicopter flight, expensive but worth it. More scenery and a stop on a snow covered mountain. Dozens of photos to sort out.Verified Amazing day, amazing views, amazing guide and amazing boat! The tour was amazing. The tour guide was friendly, interesting and informative. The places we visited did not disappoint. Milford sound itself was an incredible sight to behold. The boat was a medium sized catamaran with good viewing and seating opportunities. Not too crowded. The lunch sandwich was nice lots of snacks were provided, aswell as coffee and tea. Remember to bring warm, water repellant clothing, even in the summer, as the wind gets quite strong on the fiord.Amazing way to spend a day!Verified Unforgettable Tour with the Amazing Tania! Tania was the best bus driver and tour guide we could have asked for. Her extensive knowledge, combined with her fun and informative style, made the tour truly memorable. She timed everything perfectly, allowing us to enjoy stops with breathtaking views. The boat ride was fantastic, and we had a delightful picnic, along with tea, coffee, and desserts at another rest stop. We were thrilled to see Kea birds, which were incredibly cute, and Tania knew all of their names. Highly recommend this tour!Verified Highly recommended tour. A fantastic day! Sack lunch was delicious. Cruise was also lovely and it was a small ship. Jason, our guide, was entertaining and shared a wealth of knowledge about Te Anau, Milford, surrounding areas and New Zealand in general. Great day, right number of stops, generous lunch.
